19th century Kiku Katazome and Boro Panel $115
19th century Kiku Katazome and Boro Panel $115
This late 19th century Japanese katazome fabric employs a pattern of kiku or chrysanthemum flowers and foliage on a deep indigo background. The chrysanthemum is the national symbol of Japan and represents long life and rejuvenation. This textile was woven using a handloom and hand spun cotton threads. This panel has a few large boro patches and a few additional holes from years of use. This would make a beautiful boro sewing project for a scarf or table runner. 51 x 12 inches
